Week 14: May 8-14

Beautiful Feet!

Romans 10:15b

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news.”

If you were to open your Bible to Romans 10 and just read this verse: First, you would miss a ton of awesome truths from God’s Word, and second, you might come away with some interesting interpretations about what the Bible says about feet (Romans 10 – a pedicure ministry?!). This verse is a point of emphasis Paul makes as he lays out some great truths about sharing the Gospel. This has meaning for sharing the gospel in your town and all across the world. This should be a fitting study as you and your family reflect on last week’s Mission’s Conference.

If we back up to verses 11-13, we see some very familiar verses about salvation. Paul is emphatically stating that all who turn to the Lord and call on His name will be wonderfully and gloriously saved! Paul starts a new thought with a pivotal question in verse 14: How will they get to the point of calling on Jesus name if no one goes and tells them? He draws attention to going and sending. As we heard in our Missions Conference, some go, some send, and some pray. But we all need to be a part of this process!

In the children’s class during the Missions Conference, we asked the kids some simple questions: “Does God want me to be a missionary?” “Does God want me to go?” The answer is yes! He wants us to be his ambassadors anywhere we are, telling the good news to a lost world. What about going around the world to share the good news? This question is not just for kids. Anyone who is a part of God’s family through salvation needs to ask this question: “Does God want me to go?” In Matthew 28:19-20, we are all commanded to preach the gospel and make disciples. There are areas of the world that still have never heard. There are areas of the world that have established gospel works but need fresh workers to continue the work.

How about you?

Have you asked yourself that question? Have you even asked yourself the question: “What does God want me to do with my life?” Maybe you have given God Sunday, but that is it. Friends, that is not Bible-based Christianity. God wants all of you. Correction - He owns all of you - saved or unsaved! Asking Him what He wants for your life and following that calling is the best and most fulfilling life path you can experience. God wants some to be here in the United States of America to tell people about the gospel, but He also calls many to go all over the world to preach His Word.

How about you?

Pray Together

  1. Pray and ask God what He wants you to do with your life. Ask God if He wants you to be a missionary. Ask God to help you be an ambassador for Him right where you are.
  2. Pray that God will create an opportunity for a Gospel conversation this week.
  3. Pray that God will develop in you a heart of prayer and dependence on Him.

  • Read through Romans 10
  • Choose a missionary biography for your family to read together. The YWAM series “Christian Heroes: Then & Now” is a great series for kids and families.
