What is Worship?

Though our singing is worship, worship is much more than singing; our worship is more specifically how we live our whole lives in response to the mercy that God has shown us through Jesus Christ. Our worship is a continuous turning from the way of the world and giving of ourselves, in obedience to  Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2). When we come together to worship on Sunday mornings we are gathering as His chosen race, royal priesthood, holy nation, and possessions to proclaim the excellencies of who He is and what He has done(1 Pet 2:9), we let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly,  teaching, admonishing one another and we sing with hearts overflowing with thankfulness (Col 3:16). We we make a melody with our hearts to the Lord of the Universe & submit to one another for Christ (Eph 5:18-21). Our entire time together at Church is Worship to God.

Purpose & Vision

Our purpose is to engage the Church & direct them to worship God in spirit & truth.
We seek to engage both our heads and our hearts every time we gather. Jesus commanded us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. In other words, we are to involve our entire being - mind, will, emotions, and physical strength - in the worship of our great God (Luke 10:27)

We believe God is seeking those who would worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). The best way we can do that is by directing our gaze to Jesus Christ in our gatherings. It is the truth of who God is and what he has done… The Gospel! That God has rescued them from their sin (1 Tim 1:15). That is the power unto salvation(Romans 1:16). We trust that God will draw the Church to himself and cause them to worship him in Spirit and truth.

In John Ch.12 , Jesus says, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw everyone to myself.”

In our worship services we seek to be…

Bible-saturated – We seek to preach, pray, sing, and read God’s Word in our worship services. God has graciously revealed himself to us in his Word - it's how we truly know the One we worship!

Gospel-centered – We seek to celebrate Jesus as the One who brings us into God’s presence. It's not about an experience, a person, or a particular style of music. Our worship service should communicate that God is holy, we are sinners, Jesus saved us, and, now, we are free to serve him until the day we see him. If the gospel is the central message of God’s people, then we ought to celebrate it corporately as well!

Diverse and Unified – We seek to model diversity in our expressions of worship that demonstrate the reconciling power of the Gospel. We seek to let our worship unite us by showing love, not divide us by embracing our preferences. We like to sing old songs, new songs, and songs that welcome people from a variety of backgrounds. Whatever we sing, we always seek to lift high the name of Jesus.
