Job Position: Pastor/Director of Youth Ministries |
Description of Position: Overseeing all aspects of Harvest’s teen and children’s ministries Teen Ministry: - Oversee Sunday evening teaching, discipleship, and programming. - Plan and organize activities, including camps, retreats, and mission trips. - Communicate regularly with parents. - Lead and equip volunteer team. - Meet with students and parents for discipleship as needed. Children’s Ministry: - Oversee Sunday morning teaching, discipleship, and programming. - Plan and organize activities, including junior camp. - Communicate regularly with parents. - Lead and equip volunteer team. - Collaborate with Awana directors and VBS directors. - Work with security team to ensure the safety of our children. - Address challenges and concerns as needed. Participate in other church shepherding duties as needed, and according to gifting. Prioritize a strong presence in Sunday worship gatherings and Tuesday staff meetings.
*This is a pastoral-type role of leading, teaching, and equipping, which is reserved by God’s Word for men (1 Tim. 2:12-14). The office of Pastor/Elder will be immediately considered if the candidate is already ordained; if not, the possibility of future ordination will be considered.

Qualifications: · Character qualifications described in the Pastoral Epistles · Bachelor’s degree in related/applicable major · Seminary degree preferred (completed or in process) · Years of local church ministry experience preferred · Strong Bible teaching ability · Skilled in youth discipleship and development of young leaders · Skilled in event planning, organization, and communication · Eagerness to minister in a multi-ethnic context · Alignment with our doctrine and philosophy (see “Who We Are” and “What We Believe” pages)

Gifting and Skills: Leadership · Teachable, submissive, and wise in public and private arena · Willing to be part of a leadership team with a plurality of men in mutual submission · Operating with conviction and able to manage his life and family while maintaining the responsibilities associated with church leadership · Effective managerial skills and disciplined time-management abilities · Self-starter, with a continual vision to improve the people and processes of the church
Communication · Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, with small teams, and with the congregation, both digitally and in person · Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and manage others
Relationships · Genuine love for the Lord while continuing to grow in sanctification · Heart of care for people · Must understand and submit to godly structure and church governance · Ability to work well with existing teams & pastoral staff · Gifted in leading and equipping other staff and volunteers
